Spike TM

3D scanning in London, into a model you can use.

3D scanning in London for sculptors and designers who work by hand. Bring an object or a maquette and we'll turn it into a clean digital model you can reproduce, scale or edit.

Work shown at Frieze, Studio Voltaire and Nicoletti Contemporary.

How we help

Bring a maquette, a carving or a found object and we'll scan it, then clean and rebuild the mesh so it genuinely prints, mills or models. From there you can reproduce it, scale it up for a show, or edit it into something new. We'll walk you through what's possible for your piece.

What you get

Clean, print-ready data

We repair and retopologise the mesh, so it's a model you can actually use.

Scale a maquette up

Reprint or fabricate your form at exhibition size.

Reproduce and archive

Edition a work, or keep an original safe as a digital file.

From hand to digital

Bring what you made, and we'll get it into the computer.

What we do

From physical to digital

Bring a maquette, a carving or an object and we capture its geometry. It becomes the basis for reproduction, scaling up for exhibition, or editing into something new.

Clean, print-ready data

A raw scan is messy. We clean, retopologise and repair the mesh so it prints, mills or models properly, rather than handing you a file that fights you.

Scale and reproduce

Once a work is scanned, it can be reprinted at size, editioned, or preserved as a digital archive. Useful for artists reproducing a form or protecting an original.

Who it's for

Scanning suits sculptors and designers who work by hand and want to reproduce, scale or archive a piece. Tell us what you'd like to capture and we'll talk you through the approach.

Questions

Good to know

What can you 3D scan?

Maquettes, sculptures, found objects, hand-carved forms and existing works. If it holds still and fits in the studio, we can usually capture it.

Can a scan be scaled up for a larger piece?

Yes. A scanned form can be reprinted or fabricated at a different size, which is a common route from small maquette to exhibition-scale work.

Do you clean up the scan data?

Always. We retopologise and repair the mesh so it is genuinely print- and model-ready, not a raw capture you have to fix yourself.
